How to Start a Youth Exchange Program at Your Club:
- Invite a member of the district committee to speak at your club.
- Have the club budget approximately $2,000 and appoint at a minimum two people; a Youth Exchange Officer and a Counselor for the youth. A fully staffed committee would have an outbound coordinator, an inbound coordinator, a host family coordinator and a public relations coordinator as well.
- Enlist the support of the local public high school to sponsor one of their students for an exchange.
- Publish notices in the local media recruiting local students to apply for exchanges.
- Ask the students and their families to help locate host families for the foreign inbound student.
- Prepare to host all the foreign students (six to nine students) for a weekend to show them something special about your part of the USA.
