Short Term Exchange

Short Term Exchange

The Short Term Exchange is the hors d’oeuvre; the Long Term Exchange is the whole meal! The Short Term Exchange is not sponsored by the local Rotary Club, although their name is attached to it.

It is a Family-to-Family Exchange and takes place typically during a 3-6 week period in the summer. A local family sends their child abroad for what is generally a 3 week period of time during which time he/she lives with one host family, travels with them, experiences a different culture, and gets a “taste” of life different from what they know.

After their time is up, their host brother or sister travels back to the United States with them and lives in their home for the same period of time. There are no other host families on either end of the exchange.

The local Rotary club has no  financial expense nor responsibility of any kind.
